PROJECT
The “ARIES I” Multimodal Terminal is an infrastructure and agriculture project consisting of a cluster of grain and container terminals and a modern warehouse complex. Located in the city of Kovel, Ukraine, it is less than 40 miles from the Polish border.
This project accelerates the integration of Ukraine into the EU by creating a modern transportation and logistical hub on the main railroad artery connecting Ukraine to Western Europe.
“ARIES I” will create 500+ new jobs in Volyn region.
THE ADVISORY BOARD


Allan Mustard
Allan Mustard is a retired American agricultural economist and career diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to Turkmenistan from 2015 to 2019. Mustard previously served as a Foreign Service Officer for the Foreign Agricultural Service in Moscow (twice), Istanbul, Vienna, Mexico City, and New Delhi, as well as in assignments in Washington, D.C. Over a 38-year federal career he received the U.S. Department of Agriculture's highest award, the Distinguished Honor Award; second-highest award, the Superior Honor Award, twice; multiple lesser awards; and five Presidential Merit Awards. He holds two bachelor's degrees, in Slavic languages and literature and in political science, from the University of Washington; a master's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois; and a certificate in Russian from Leningrad State University.

Pedro Nonay
Pedro Nonay has 36 years of experience in major agricultural commodity markets. He was Partner and ex-CEO of Solaris Commodities till December 2021, the largest grain group in the Black Sea region. Prior to that he was a member of the Global Executive Group and CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC). Prior to that he was a senior trader and country manager for Cargill from 1986 to 2007, based variously in Spain, Portugal, England, Holland and Switzerland. Pedro holds a master’s degree in sociology and is an attorney with a double bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology from Complutense University of Madrid. He has also participated in executive post-graduate education at the Harvard Business School and AESE/IESE in Lisbon (Portugal).

Steven Fisher
Steven Fisher is a career global finance professional and author of "Into Russia's Cauldron ". He worked for thirty-five years in emerging markets with Citibank. His last two assignments, spanning sixteen years, were in the former Soviet Union, where he served in senior leadership roles in Moscow, Russia, and in Kyiv, Ukraine, in the latter instance as CEO, PJSC Citibank (Ukraine).

Mark Lebow
A founding partner of the law firm Lebow & Sokolow, LLP, Mark Lebow received his law degree from Harvard University and his undergraduate degree from Yale University. Mr. Lebow is chairman of the board of American Friends of Magen David Adom (MDA), the U.S. - based fundraising arm of MDA, Israel's national emergency medical response organization and Red Cross affiliate. He has held leadership positions with AFMDA for 35 years. Mr. Lebow is also chair of St. Francis Friends of the Poor, the Franciscan charity which provides permanent housing to mentally ill homeless persons. He is a member of the board of directors and secretary of The Fortune Society, which rehabilitates formerly incarcerated individuals. Mr. Lebow is a former board member of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, chair of its Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, and chair of its New York City Transit Authority.
Kovel historically has been, and still is, the main railroad hub connecting Ukraine to the West.

STRATEGIC
GOAL

Develop the export - import potential of Ukraine by creating a modern logistic and transportation infrastructure;
Gain control of over 10% of the Ukrainian transshipment market, including agriculture and container shipments by:

Developing a modern Industrial logistical hub consisting of a cluster of grain and container terminals and a modern warehouse complex.
MAIN OBJECTIVES

Development of an elevator grain terminal complex.

Development of a modern container multimodal terminal.

Development of a class A/B warehouse complex.
4/
Development of the East-West Export/Import Railway through the modernization and construction of the Kovel-Chelm narrow gauge railway with further modernization of the railway systems in the western part of Ukraine.
MAIN INDUSTRIAL CLUSTERS


Grain Terminal “DRY PORT”
-
A linear route elevator for 150,000 tons of one-time storage and a processing capacity of 1.5 million tons of grain per year.
-
A transshipment platform for reloading grain from wide-gauge railroad cars to narrow-gauge railroad cars.
-
30 silos with approximate capacity of 5,000 MT each.

Design and construction time: Q3 2023 - Q1 2024.
The elevator terminal will provide the following services:
Services to third-party customers for the acceptance, cleaning, drying, storage and shipment of grains and oilseeds, incl. shipments for export through the European route.
The grain transportation area will have two pairs of railway tracks - narrow and wide. The platforms will have a maximum length that will allow reloading (transshipment) along the railway route of up to 16 railroad cars.
Railroad car-to-railroad car reloading will be carried out by US-made pneumatic loaders with a grain transshipment capacity of 150 tons/hour and more.

Container Terminal

Container multimodal terminal. The volume of handling (transshipment) of containers is ≈ 58.4 thousand TEU/year.

Design and construction time: Q3 2023 - Q1 2024.
The container multimodal terminal, will include the following sections:

Rear area (unloading / loading);

Warehouse area (including areas for connecting refrigerated containers);

Railway lines - narrow & wide, going through container terminal;

Overhead cranes.

Warehousing complex

Modern warehousing complex (class A/B) - 30,000 m².

Can handle up to 150,000 tons per annum.

Design and construction time: Q3 2023 - Q1 2024.
